New song from Translee, BiAS, and Glenn Saddler - "How to Make It"

So the Freshman '11 list from XXL came out and I'm kinda like...meh. I pretty much dig half of the list, and the other half got me scratchin my head. Being from ATL, you see a lot of talent, so its kinda funny when a lame gets some notoriety. But props to Yelawolf, Diggy, Big Krit, Cyhi, and Mac Miller for makin the list. Those guys are gonna change the industry for the better hopefully.
Last week Big Krit was actually performing at Smith's Olde Bar for that Red Cup Party. Definitely a good time. But speaking of Smith's Olde Bar...

FarOut Ventures will be hosting another show at Smith's Olde Bar this upcoming Sunday. February 27th, at 8pm. Translee, Glenn Saddler, and BiAS will be performing. This show is gonna be hype, so don't miss out. Mr. Saddler and Sir BiAS always come with it, and although I haven't had the chance to meet Translee yet, the more I hear, the more I like. This dude is on to something. So come support great music. Hip hop fans, look out for these guys. FarOut's music is starting to pop up on everyone's radar. We will be heard...and the revolution will be televised. Have some drinks, bring some friends, its gonna be a good time.

Simply Jane...

So the Grammy's are coming up. Prepare for snubs, surprises, and a few expected victories this year. The lovely Janelle Monae has received two nominations this year. She has been quite busy over the past year with the release of Archandroid over the summer, then a North American tour, followed by a worldwide tour, followed by appearances on every major music channel, awards show, etc. You name it. Janelle has been on it this year. I was quite pleased that many notable blogs and magazines recognized her album 'The Archandroid' for the masterpiece that it really is. Ms. Monae topped many a 'album of the year' list and all I can say is that I hope the momentum keeps going. Everything she touches turns to gold. That being said, keep your fingers crossed as the awards show approaches and hopefully we will see Jane take home some hardware at this years 53rd Annual Grammy Awards. In the meantime, check out this interview to hear about what Janelle has been up to lately and how amazing the tour has been so far.

Kanye...need I say more.

So Kanye has done it again. He's back. Not back like 808's and heartbreak back. I mean actually back. If you saw his film with Selita Ebanks, then you have probably been patiently awaiting the release of the album. Hell, if you don't live in a bloody cave you should have been anticipating the release. The album is good. The music itself is epic. Ye's sampling and production are unmatched of course. He has quite a few lines that will be repeated over the next year as he usually does. Either way, the question looming remains...will Kanye put out an album that will put the haters to rest? Will it make up for all the shit talking and VMA Mic stealing and what not? The answer, who gives a damn. This album goes hard. I will not speak too much about it. I'm not gonna be picky like pitchfork and talk about minor faults in comparison to past albums. I hate how different blogs do that - compare artists' current work to their past work. Of course you have to, to some extent. But every work of art is unique and should be evaluated accordingly. So who cares that Ye is still talkin about the Taylor Swift incident. STFU, sit down, and listen. It's a dope album. My only complaint is that every track was in the short film he released. I wish everything was a surprise when I heard the album. But oh well. Get out of here, and then go tell your friends that "Yeezy taught you well..."
