Theres something grotesquely addictive about Odd Future. Here's Tyler The Creator's new video for "Yonkers". The Odd Future crew has taken the world by storm. Mos Def and many other artists such as Das Racist have cosigned on them already.

Lupe hates Lasers

Lupe Lupe Lupe...one of the greatest rappers/lyricists of all time just released his third album. And the crowd goes...wild?? Not quite. A lot of people are not quite satisfied, and some feel that in comparison to the mic-raping that Lupe has done in the past, this album wreaks of mediocrity when compared to his past work. Check out the link above from Complex. It shines a light on some of the background workings of Atlantic and how Lupe didn't really put anywhere near as much of a personal touch on this album as he did on The Cool, or on Food and Liquor. He recently tweeted a song that is not on Lasers. When downloading this song, you see that it is tagged as part of an album labeled 'Food And Liquor 2.' So, I guess I'll be waiting for that then...Lasers is not in rotation at all. 'Words I Never Said' is probably the only song that I actually mess with, in real life. Hopefully, if 'F&L2' is the next album he puts out, it will make up for this one. I can see him redeeming himself, Lupe admits that he hates this album, or at least the process of it more so than the music. Hopefully his next album will do for him what Recovery did for Eminem after Relapse was a #epicfail.

So the show went great. Thank you once again for everyone who came out to support, we can't thank you enough. Props to Tristan Ervin and Rush Photography, two of the dopest photographers out there. Be sure to check out fartherout.com

New song from Translee, BiAS, and Glenn Saddler - "How to Make It"

So the Freshman '11 list from XXL came out and I'm kinda like...meh. I pretty much dig half of the list, and the other half got me scratchin my head. Being from ATL, you see a lot of talent, so its kinda funny when a lame gets some notoriety. But props to Yelawolf, Diggy, Big Krit, Cyhi, and Mac Miller for makin the list. Those guys are gonna change the industry for the better hopefully.
Last week Big Krit was actually performing at Smith's Olde Bar for that Red Cup Party. Definitely a good time. But speaking of Smith's Olde Bar...

FarOut Ventures will be hosting another show at Smith's Olde Bar this upcoming Sunday. February 27th, at 8pm. Translee, Glenn Saddler, and BiAS will be performing. This show is gonna be hype, so don't miss out. Mr. Saddler and Sir BiAS always come with it, and although I haven't had the chance to meet Translee yet, the more I hear, the more I like. This dude is on to something. So come support great music. Hip hop fans, look out for these guys. FarOut's music is starting to pop up on everyone's radar. We will be heard...and the revolution will be televised. Have some drinks, bring some friends, its gonna be a good time.

Simply Jane...

So the Grammy's are coming up. Prepare for snubs, surprises, and a few expected victories this year. The lovely Janelle Monae has received two nominations this year. She has been quite busy over the past year with the release of Archandroid over the summer, then a North American tour, followed by a worldwide tour, followed by appearances on every major music channel, awards show, etc. You name it. Janelle has been on it this year. I was quite pleased that many notable blogs and magazines recognized her album 'The Archandroid' for the masterpiece that it really is. Ms. Monae topped many a 'album of the year' list and all I can say is that I hope the momentum keeps going. Everything she touches turns to gold. That being said, keep your fingers crossed as the awards show approaches and hopefully we will see Jane take home some hardware at this years 53rd Annual Grammy Awards. In the meantime, check out this interview to hear about what Janelle has been up to lately and how amazing the tour has been so far.

BiAS and Translee - Feb. 27 - 8pm - Smiths Old Bar

February 27th, 2011. Smith's Old Bar.
I will be performing with hip-hop artist BiAS. The highly anticipated 'Sent By Messenger' mixtape is on its way, and Act I will be performed at this show. Join us at Smith's. Tix are $5. 21 and up. Everyone who made the last show at Smith's may think they have an idea of what to expect, but this show will be fresh and new. We always come with something different. And to those who missed the last show, come see what all the hype is about. Look out around GSU for fliers and details. The FarOut crew always throws it down. A bunch of fans got tons of giveaways at the last show...I'm sure there will be plenty of surprises at the next show. Translee will also be performing. I've recently been introduced to his music, and I can honestly say I became an instant fan. Its gonna be a great show.

2011 - The Year of the Suit

So this year an emerging trend that became popular in 2010 is predicted to make a huge appearance in 2011. It looks like the suit is making a comeback. In business settings, new styles are beginning to emerge, as well as old ones. For those of you who watch Mad Men or simply dig a vintage look, Donald Draper's famous sleek cut suits are always in style. But for those of you who want to switch it up a bit and try something new. Even in more casual, jeans and a sport coat are beginning to be seen as a regular combination in everyday social settings. I definitely rock the 3-button every now and then with slacks or jeans, as is also illustrated above. (I probably won't be rocking the fag bag tho...not my steez). Here's a link that will show you how to do it right and stay classy in 2011.
